Global premiere of the awesome Renault Bigster later this year:2024 update

Later this year, the new Renault Bigster SUV will make its world debut, and by early 2025, it should be available for purchase abroad. It is basically a three-row version of the all-new Duster, which made its world debut a few months ago, and was first unveiled as a concept in 2021. After a protracted period of weak sales, the Duster—which was once Renault’s main source of income in India—was first introduced there in 2012. It was eventually discontinued in 2022. Only the first generation Duster model was sold in India; the second generation model was never introduced there.

2024 Renault Duster: Design

The third-generation Duster borrows many design cues from the previous generation, which was based on the concept of the Dacia Bigster that was revealed a few years ago. For example, the production model’s headlights will have Y-shaped LED DRLs that are linked to one another throughout the grille’s width. Depending on the markets where the car is sold, Renault’s new double diamond logo will take the place of the prominent “DC” logo. The SUV has a more rugged appearance than the outgoing model thanks to its chunky bumper, flat front fascia, and scooped-out hood. With less wrinkles and lines, Dacia has kept the side profile of the new Duster similar.

But the SUV’s muscular stance is emphasised by thick square claddings and flared wheel arches. The tailgate appears flatter than on the previous model, and the Y-shaped motif is also present in the taillights on the back. A roof-mounted spoiler, roof rails, blacked-out B and C pillars, a unique rear quarter glass, and dual-tone, diamond-cut alloy wheels are some more eye-catching features.

2024 Renault Duster: Interiors & Features

The new Duster’s cabin interiors have undergone a major redesign with an entirely new arrangement. Highlights include a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, hexagonal AC vents with similar Y-shaped elements, and a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel. Numerous buttons for the infotainment and HVAC system are located on a horizontal panel beneath the central air conditioning vents.

A mount for a cell phone next to the steering wheel is another striking feature. Highlights of the features include ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system.

With features like multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features like vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist and motorcycle detection, rear parking assistant, lane change warning and assist, etc., the third generation Duster will also be very high on safety technology.

2024 Renault Duster: Engine options

Three engine options are available for the new generation Duster: a 120 horsepower, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine; a 140 horsepower, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol motor; and a 170 horsepower, 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine. The 1.3-liter engine is also compatible with flex fuel, and the latter two options are paired with a mild hybrid setup. The Duster lineup’s most potent motor to date is this one.

2024 Renault Duster: Anticipated release in India

The next Duster is anticipated to be longer than its predecessor and to be supported by Renault’s CMF-B platform. In certain markets, a three-row version is actually anticipated. In addition, the new Duster will get a second rebadging into two different Nissan models. It is anticipated that Renault will introduce the third-generation Duster to India by 2025. It will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and MG Astor.

When Duster was originally introduced in India in 2013, it did not receive any significant updates during its existence in that country. Ultimately, after years of low sales and fierce competition from competitors, it was discontinued in 2022. By 2025, Renault is anticipated to introduce the third-generation Duster to India.
