The Energetic Honda NX500 Adventure Bike Launched In India

The brand-new ‘NX500’ adventure tourer from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) was unveiled today at a tempting Rs. 5,90,000 (ex-showroom New Delhi). It will enter the Indian market via the CBU* route (*Completely Built-Up). This is the new model.

While keeping the popular characteristics, it has new styling and numerous improvements. Meaning “New X-over,” the NX500 is designed to provide an enjoyable ride on a variety of surfaces, including long-distance excursions, gravel trails, and winding roads. The All-New NX500 is now accepting reservations; BigWing dealerships all over India will sell it.

Styling and Equipment

Following the design concept of “Daily Crossover,” the NX500 looks the part wherever it goes—on a city block, a winding road, a highway, or a gravel trail. Its new look combines an imposing silhouette with compact adventure-style usability. The motorcycle’s new, compact all-LED headlight and tail lamp add to its intimidating, agile appearance.

The newest adventure touring bike from Honda features state-of-the-art technology, including a 5-inch full-color TFT screen that enhances visibility in direct sunlight through optical bonding. It is also programmable; the rider can choose the background colour from White, Black, or Auto and the display style from Bar, Circle, and Simple.

In addition to having a backlit 4-way toggle switch on the left handlebar that enables on-screen turn-by-turn navigation and the ability for the rider to make calls or listen to music (through a Bluetooth headset), the NX500 also has Honda RoadSync connectivity for iOS and Android smartphones. Additionally, it has an emergency stop signal feature that flashes turn signals quickly to alert oncoming cars of an impending braking.

Engine and Performance

A 471cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine with a parallel twin-cylinder layout powers the brand-new Honda NX500. It provides a well-balanced mix of pleasurable performance with an exuberant, high-revving character and zappy top end. This motor, when combined with a smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox, produces 35kW of power at 8,600 rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

On city roads, the NX500’s strong characteristic in the low to mid-RPM ranges enables high manoeuvrability and a strong acceleration feel. Additionally, there is an assist/slipper clutch that makes upshifts easier and prevents rear wheel hopping when downshifting and applying severe braking. Additionally, it has a switchable Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system to control rear wheel traction for greater assurance when riding in slick conditions.

Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

The NX500 maintains the steel diamond-tube mainframe, which offers the best possible balance between structural rigidity and lightweight body.The adventure touring motorcycle is equipped with trail-pattern radial tyres measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches down back, with sizes of 110/80-R19 and 160/60-R17. But its alloy wheels are brand-new, five-spoke, Y-shaped cast aluminium pieces.

This ADV has Show a 41mm SFF-BP upside-down (USD) front forks and a Pro-Link mono-suspension with a 5-stage preload adjuster at the back to provide excellent comfort both on and off-road trails. Dual 296mm front discs with two-piston callipers up front and a 240mm disc with a single-piston calliper down back, equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard, are used for braking.

Colours, Price and Availability

With an attractive price tag of Rs. 5,90,000 (ex-showroom New Delhi), the All-New Honda NX500 is available. Three colour schemes that go well with its adventurous image will be offered. Grand Prix Red, Pearl Horizon White, and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic are them. HMSI’s high-end BigWing dealerships are now accepting reservations throughout India. Deliveries are scheduled to start in February 2024.
